VC to MoBo compatibility...

Im getting the Asus P5W DH... am I gonna have to get a VC with DDR2? or can I stick a regular 256MB DDR VC in there?

Just wondering because its pretty anal with the RAM you use, Im curious about the VC... cause I really dont want to spend alot of money on it, since I have no use for it.

Any ol' video card will work in there irregardless of it's memory type.

Just as long as the video card uses PCI-E, it should work with the P5W DH (which is a great motherboard, by the way).

Thx guys. I noticed that all the new Vid Cards are now PCI-E... so I just assumed that I would have to get one of those. ;p

alv, I figured if Im gonna put together a solid PC, I would just go with the better stuff on the market. Ive had my old PC for 5 years (a Dell), and I dont want to have to buy or upgrade for atleast 3 years or so.

PCI-Express is quickly becoming the standard for video cards. AGP is still capable, but it's bandwidth and lack of new hardware will eventually be it's demise sooner or later.
