Flash the bios? What does this do?

i too have asus update

Flashing the bios can enable features on the m/board not included in the original shipped bios.

Go to the Asus site, read the release notes for bioses later than the version you have, if the newer bios enables features you require or resolves issues you are having then update. If you have no issues or the features included in the new bios are not applicable then a flash is unnecessary.

Yes, a bios update should only be done as a last resort to trying to fix a problem as it can really screw up your computer if you do it wrong. And if the flash stops in the middle, well, you've just made yourself a nice big paperweight out of your motherboard.
