I dont think there is a metal backplate for the LGA775, as it uses a 4 hole mounting system where there is even presssure throughout the area of the mount. Thats why its better than a 2 hole mounting system.

LGA775 doesn't have a backplate. That's why you need to take out the motherboard to put on new heatsinks. The 2 hole has even pressure, but it usually depends on your heatsink.

But if you use bolt through on a 2 hole mounting system, its not as even spread of pressure as it only pushes on two sides.
