I am swapping my motherboard from a P3 800mhz to a socket "a" amd board with an athlon cpu. I am running win xp home sp2 and I am just wondering if I will have any hard drive issues when swapping over to the different architecture. Any hints or tips would be great! Thanks!

u probably have to reinstall windows. Other than that there shouldn't be any problems with the hdd.

Because it will be a different motherboard, there will be a new chipset, which the hard drive will not reconise..

What you need to do, is repair windows, that will delete all the old chipset recognition .dll files, and make some new ones for the new chipset, you will not lose anything this way.

:D Thanks to Joxley and Atomic for the help. It worked like a charm! Thanks again!
