Is anyone in the field, or currently pursuing a job in microelectronics fabrication, or computer engineering?
The time for me to choose a college is growing eerily close, and i've received a scholarship to Clemson and UCONN. I'll be following a path of, as you guessed it, Microelectronics fabrication. At UCONN they call this field Computer engineering, but the courses offered and where i'll end up are pretty much the same.
Before i commit myself to this field, i want to know a few things. I'm hoping we have some uber-geeks here that are in this or a similar field.
- What is the projected outlook for job growth for this field?
- Whats the national median average salary for a Computer engineer?
- Is this the right field to get into if i want to get a job designing computer architechure for things like Video Processing Units, Processors, and other components?
