Right now I have a modem/router, and it doesnt transmit across my house (1920sq ft) or sometimes it will at 1mb/s.

I want to swtich to a router by itself... and dont know which one is be the the best bang for my buck.

Thx in advance!

well if you want a wireless router, you could get the one I have. I have a full signal on my main computer in my bedroom about 60 feet from the router in my 3200Sq ft home.

Don't listen to the user reviews, this is a good product

Also, Do Not go with D-Link :d

Hope this helps

Awsome, i might look into that, and you square footage is the almost the same as the house i'm moving into. So thats great. Do you get signal throughout the house? the router is most likely goin to be in the middle of my house.

If you want a good signal throughout the house and if you want it where you can still move it around the house or whatever, get some of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833124152
I have some but they're netgear and they work great. I haven't had a single problem with them and the speed is the same as it was when I was using the cable modem on my computer. I had a netgear WIFI router and hated it, it would never keep a signal, even when I was only like 10 feet from it, I just gave it away to someone because I hated it.

EDIT: Here is the pair of netgear ones I got, they're pricey but well worth it! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833122062

Interesting... how do they work?

you just plug in one of the adapters somewhere near a router, or at least close enough to get a cable from the adapter into the router. Then you just take the second adapter and plug it into the wall wherever you want it, then run the ethernet cord into your computer, that's it. They cover like 5000 feet I think which is pretty good and they're fast except the transfer rate between two computers on mine is only 14MBPS so downloading a 4GB file from another computer on my network can take a long time but otherwise they're great.
