DVD-ROM Not Reading DVDs

I have a DVD-ROM that I have used over the last few months since I got my new computer to copy DVDs, to copy data from a computer to the DVD and from the DVD to the computer, to watch movies on my computer, etc.

Recently however, my DVD drive decides to not read DVDs. I tried copying video files off a DVD+R and a DVD-R and both give me the Please Insert a Disk message. I've tried to put in GTA SA, software on a DVD and I get the same problem. I tried to play a movie, both purchased from a store and copied onto ao DVD with no problem.

When I go to properties, it shows the DVD drive as Type: CD Drive.

Suggestions?

1) Clean the drive with some sort of CD/DVD cleaner.
2) Turn off PC and check connections... Maybe unplug them and replug them back in and reboot, see what happens.

It might've went out, the laser or watver...But try going to device manager, uninstall the drive, then restart, they will then reinstall, and then try putting a dvd in..
