I currently am running on a sata drive. I installed an IDE drive, with the jumper off which is slave, into IDE1. My dvd drive is in IDE1. I saw it in the BIOS, it was detected, but it isn't being detected in Disk Management

C is XP partition, E is Linux..

wait, why isnt your DVD in IDE2, If not than why isnt your harddrive in IDE0 or 1 and DVD in IDE2 or 1

Yup, that will work. I had mine setup that way until I went to a single SATA drive. Be sure to set both as master being that they will be the only devices on each IDE channel. :D

Wait, so the hdd as IDE1 and the dvd as IDE2, and both set as masters?
yea there diffrent.. IDE1 is for harddrives only. IDE2 is for DVD/CD, Some motherborads are IDE0, IDE1 but more are IDE1 (harddivre), IDE2(DVD/CD). It dont matter what there set on alone as there in right connection
