you can hook up your tv via s-video or dvi from your video card to your tv... and you can watch everything you do on your tv...

I use a tv as my computer monitor, it also doubles as my tv...but it has VGa and DVI ports built in

A TV card allows you to watch television, from a standard aerial connection, on your computer. You can get them with build in sky, freeview, all sorts of stuff. They can be PCI, or USB, and you can broadcast over your network, providing you have the knowledge.
