Desperately need help

Hi all,

I desperately need help sorting something out on my parents pc which had been going on for a year. My stepdad loves taking photos but his system is clogged up with photos now, and I need to write them on a disc. This pc has a disc writer but it is refusing to write discs. It seems to be a CD-R and CD-RW writable. My new computer of my own is very powerful, and the one before that one both had DVD writers and never caused me any trouble. I could even solve problems on my new one one. But this pc is causing me endless grief without writing cds and a system getting clogged up with picture files, as the cd writer wont work.

I have found that CD-R/RW Drives have a Write Life. After so many writes, it will just stop working. So you might want to try getting a new Drive. Good Look,

It has only written very few cds.

No way did I read that, but looks like you cdroms isnt working...Just go to device manager, uninstall the drive and then restart the computer, it thhen will reinstall, and should work..

You will have to try the Memory Part. So go to the properties of My Computer select navigate to ADVANCED Tab Go to Performance there you will see Settings button click on the Settings Button go to ADVANCED TAB and there you will find Virtual Memory. Click on Change and double the Memory of the Existing One. this is how you can get the things solved.
