BLue screen of death!!

It is NOT a virus - it's a hardware problem.

You need to run some utilities to check the stability of the PC - run MemTest to check the memory, Prime95 to check the CPU, and get HDTach to check the hard drive.

Has he got a good enough PSU?

Get him to check the temperatures as well.

hmm if u can't do a full format i think it's sectors or clusters of your hardrive are bad, so when you go to save data to that part of the hard disk, it corrupts or just blue screens.

try scandisk once windows loads and see what it finds or if it blue screens.

hmm yeh, i'll try defragging it to, to see how many bad sectors there are. and i'll giv those programs ago to.

thanks guys

it is now saying that a harddrive can not be found!....blah run a manufactures diagnostis disk.

but as the machine was bought from e-machine he does not have any of the kind as e-machine seem to be ****

That sounds like your harddrive is just going bad to me, and when you save enough data to get to that point it starts crashing
