I need to start at the ground level...I'm a complete noob.

I need to learn about layers, effects - really basic stuff, I suppose.

And I'm stuck at the part where you have to make an outline. So basically step 4 and 5.

The outline is supposed to be filled and placed behind the text...

I mean, it's sort of looking like grafitti but not really.

Anyways, help is appreciated.

did you make a new layer because it seems like you just drew on the background.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure thats what you did because it doesn't say anything about layers until step 3 but you always need to start in a new layer for each project.

K, I'll see.

And also, can you have a gradient background?

Because I've made a new layer and applied the gradient to the new layer - not the background. I'm dragging the little graident tool but it wont fill the background.

I can make the background a solid color but gradients don't seem to work on it.

But how do you just get the outline of the text? (my previous question).

yea backgrounds don't gradient

only layers do, well at least for me they don't. just make another layer under the graffeti layer and make that a gradient.

Post your pick when your done with it, i wanna see

I think that looks pretty close.

It's probably something very simple but it took me FOREVER to figure things out.

I'm happy with it.

But I don't know how to merge the two layers - the two grafitti layers. For the screen I just sort of dragged them on top of each other.

So it's supposed to look like the screen but they're still seperate layers.
