Which Laptop is better? and why?

My dad is getting a new laptop and we would like to know which one is better.

Well, the second one IMO. Depends on what he wants to do with it, what does he want to do with it?

Why is that, it does'nt have Duo-core tho, does that matter?

Well he just wants to have somthing that will last into the future 3-5years, and he can watch DVDs, get photos of his camera etc, you, maybe a little photoshop?

yeah that is what i thought he should do, is the duo-core that much better than the single core, maybe it only has 512ram cos it has duo core?

First on it has core duo which owns.

The core duo is vastly faster, get another 512 ram tossed in and it will be a very solid laptop for a while. 512 does not cut it anymore.
