Lol wow, it looks like there is. How old is that computer, because they dont make parts for it anymore I dont think.

Because if you go to newegg, and choose what socket type, it shows no socket 423.

I think the pc was built in 2000? It has windows 2000 pro on it. So you think I should buy the 2.0 GHz cpu from ebay?

Seems good for only 20 bucks. Try and look around for something faster. If not get that.

Also figure out what ram you have (I assume its still SD RAM, because I have also never heard of anything older then that.)

It's several years old - you can tell by just looking at the processor speed.

Socket 423 was discontinued ages ago - which is why you can't buy processors in retail stores for it.
