Well I need some suggestions on parts for an upcoming HTPC.
Needs lots of storage for movies, tv, and music. Also plan to game on this
thing on a 42" 16:9 HDTV LG LCD Television i am going to purchase.

Budget is $2800.

So throw some configs at me

What does htpc stand for? Well if your gonna save alot of videos and songs on it make sure to get atleast 500g harddrive,if your gonna save ALOT.If just some stuff then around 300.I also allways suggest 2g of ram.This motherboard is pretty good to,should be good for streaming vids and music

It's for a home theater Im building.

So you think I should go AM2?

Id def go am2,but thats just me.Also with a screen that big,and a bidget that high,dont get cheap with the graphics card or anything else.When your spending that much already dont go cheap on a few little thing

This is my HTPC setup... not fabulous, but it does what I need it to:

-Thermaltake Mozart HTPC case
-Gigabyte K8Triton MB
-AMD 64 3400+ (Newcastle)
-ATI Radeon 9800 (s-video out)
-Hauppaugge 350 capture card
-1GB RAM
-Beyond TV

Get 2X500GB hard drives, just for a laugh, get some sort of dual core processor, 1GB RAM, and your good to go. Is the budget just for the computer, or the TV as well?

Sumthin with an AMD 64 X2 processor, ATI Radeon X1900, 2x 500GB 16MB Cache HDD's etc etc

With $2800, this will be a nice build.

$2800 just for the HTPC, Tv excluded from this budget.

I was thinking 3x 750GB in raid 1 for around 1.25TB

what case and should I go Conroe?
