XP QUestion

In XP, when you select "switch user", and the computer switches to the sign-in screen, and it says 'X programs running', are those programs still runing? more specifically, if I am running Bittorrent (not closed to the system tray) or a virus scan, and go to the switch user, will those programs still be downloading/running, or willl windows pause them?

I think if Bittorrent is shared among all users then it might continue running otherwise as soon as a new user logs in those programs will close.

I believe the processes keep running... not sure though. Just try it out. Start a bittorrent download, switch to another user, stay there for a while, switch back and see if the download has made any progress. Or try the same thing with the virus scanner.
