Okay, so this is a completly new build for a friend, it will do quite a bit of gaming and the other general stuff. And we are not waiting for conroe to come and conroe price drops either, we have decided AMD X2 will do it for now :)

Looking good. Some nice choices there :D

The only selection I don't like is the case, but thats your decision entirely :p

Looks excellent. I also just built a rig with the same cpu and socket. (see sig)
I would suggest the ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard over that one.
It's about $20 cheaper and better
I have it and it's awesome. It has HD audio which sounds as good as a highend
sound card.
Only thing is I would suggest probabley a 500 or 600Watt psu instead.
Get a OCZ GameXStream 600Watt. I have the 700watt version

Everything else looks superb.
Good luck and enjoy :) :D

Get a better PSU, the Modstreams are crap. Get a GameXstream instead. Or the Powerstream 520.

First off, due to large quantity of Asus motherboards dyeing after short amounts of time we won't be buying Asus motherboards until they release decent motherboards again. The MSI ones are slightly slower but far more reliable.

Second off, a 600watt GameXStream is a bit overkill IMO, since we will not be overclocking or running arrays of hard drives. The powerstream's are not the best, but they deliver enough clean power for a PC

ASUS motherboards dying? When and where was that? ASUS is probably the best right now. Please do yourself a favor and DONT get a modstream. And how is the GameXstream overkill? Its not. The PS520 is one of the best powersupplies. Itll handle a load up to 600W. If not, get yourself a Zipply or PCP&C psu.

The GameXstream is good, and isn't one bit overkill. The Powerstream is one of the best, really...

If you're going to get a modular powersupply, buy the Enermax Liberty instead.

the case looks nice, i've pretty much got the same specs as you, and it's great

The entire A8N and A8V lineup were flaky as hell and constantly failed.

The motherboard stays, but I am open for more suggestions for power supply. The vendor i use is NCIX.COM so if you find something better their for a decent price feel free to let me know :)

I was possibly thinking a FSP Sparkle, and I will talk to the person who i'm building the PC for if he wants to move to a different power supply.

ASUS did have it's low time, now it's doing better. You should see all their new motherboards. MSI is okay, never really liked them, but they've always worked.
