Well if your cpu needs more juice, it causes your psu to work harder, using more electricity.

Usually it's there. It depends on your PSU's ability to use that electricity efficiently.

Sytheious, i wouldnt say you save that much on electricity. Conroe gives you more performance than their AMD counterparts. The only way AMD can keep up is to slash prices and thats what makes Conroe look so expensive. But really, compared to other previous Intel processors, Conroe is cheap. The price of Conroe is ridicously low. And kentsfield is just around the corner. Q4 '06!!

Yup, basically two Conroe cores on one chip. It's not a "pure" quad-core where it's all four cores on one die, but rather two dual-core CPU's in one package. Very similar to what Intel did with the Presler.
