transfer all data onto new computer harddrive

If you really want to install a new hard drive then make sure you ground yourself you dont want to mess up a new hard drive. To ground yourself touch a peice of metal on your pc, you have to ground yourself to protect your pc from ESD (electrostatic discharge) I have to tell you the first time i installed a hardrive it was not that easy but i eventually figured it out. If you have no idea what your doing once your try putting the new hardrive in reverse what you done and burn all of your stuff to dvd's.

I figured out what the jumper was, and when I placed it into different positions, the BIOS read the hard drive. When I try to turn the computer on, it gives me some error and a giant blue screen. This happens whenever the BIOS recognizes the new hardware. Any ideas?

I've cycled through all of the possible jumper positions with no avial. Any suggestions?
