AM2 or wait for New Intels?

They removed it though, probably after Intel gave them a much "friendly" reminder to take it off, because even though Core 2 Duo has been officially announced, it's not out for sale yet. It'll probably cost a little bit more at launch, because of the demand for it.

retailers are going to be retailers, selling a $999 cpu to us for $1300 thats bs.

MSRP is simply Intel's suggestion on the price point. Resellers can price it at whatever they please, but MSRP isn't the law for resellers. Intel can't sue a reseller for charging too much for their processors. It might be cheap, it might not, most of the time it depends on the demand for the product.

Why do you think it's Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price?

Haha, I would rather get the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 for $316 and get the same performance as the AMD Athlon FX-62, but for about $700 less. :D Of course, after price cuts, it'll be only a $200-$300 price difference, but good enough for me! :D
