i built my own computer and it sometimes restarts for no reason at random times. If somebody could help that would be nice

It could be a weak power supply, or that you power supply is dying...Also, make sure that the computer isnt overheating..Use a program such as speedfan to check the cpu temps, or the bios..Do you have a good heatsink on your cpu..?

yea i have a good heatsink, i have a Abit motherboard and that came with a program that monitors the temp. Maybe ill look at some power supplies

Processor: Pentium D 2.8GHz Dual Core

memory: PQI 1024MB Dual Channel DDR2 PC5400 667MHz (2x512)

Graphics: eVGA GeForce 6200 PCIe Turbo Cache supporting 512M

Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 48 CPU Fan for AMD/Intel

Power supply: 450 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply

could i flip the swich on my power supply? or should i get a new one?

That power supply almost seems sufficient....Before sinking money in a power supply, look into the smaller things.

I had a simliar problem and found out it was one of my memory modules....I have 4Gig..Took 1 out at a time, and low and behold, the 3rd one fixed it..

Just a thought.

Yes. Take 1 out see what happens..Swap, try again...Can even try to move to a different slot.

Also make sure all the contacts are clean as well.
