Is a cheap PSU reliable?

So, for a quality one, it seems that I have no choice other then a $50.00+ one? Because, this has to last a good while.

Sorry, ive never really looked at a PSU. I guess I should learn more about them eh? Comes in handy at times :p

You really shouldn't cheap out on your PSU. Just think: if you buy a cheap one now, it will probably work from a week to a month, then die on you. Then you'll have to buy another PSU, and you'll opt for a more expensive one so that one doesn't die on you either. So, if you get a more expensive one now, you'll just end up saving money anyway.

i would go the extra mile and get a higher end $50+ psu.
just think.. 70$ to ensure the survival of your comp
or 20$ just to see your computer blow up in 6 months and spending another 1000$ on your rig

Lol $70 is out of the question.

I think im going with the one that the Amish Dude suggested.

I only like Enermax's liberty line, as it is the best (IMO) modular psu you can get. All their other stuff is crap.

the comp in my sig is running on the 420 watt 20 pin powersupply that came with my aspire x-gear case, it's worked for a year now, and i'm kinda gettin scared lol, i think i will upgrade soon
