AMD Cutting again

Alvin, i wouldnt say DDR2 has gotten cheaper than DDR. Huge misconception there. High end DDR for 2GB can be had for ~300. High end DDR2 for the same densities are pushing $500. Now tell me, which one is cheaper? If you are talking value RAM, sure DDR2 is cheaper. IMO, i would choose AM2 over S939 because of the memory bandwidth. But AM2 has the crappy chipsets. The Nforce 4s were soooo good. Especially the DFI's and the Opterons.

Yeah, it depends on what RAM you get, but DDR2 as a whole has started getting cheaper. It'll get cheaper as AM2 spreads.

At least AMD has the foresight to make sure that AM2 and AM3 will be comptial at least AM2 forward. That way poeple upgrading to AM3 will know that they don't have to replace that 150 buck MOBO they bought last year.

DDR2 is going get a LOT CHEAPER VERY SOON. 6 or 7 months ago DDR2 wasn't really big, but now it is.
