No you need a SATA controller and it uses a different cable

it depends. If its a clean install, you will need the SATA drivers first as Win XP doesnt come with them. Your BIOS will detect the hard drive though.

oh ok, because i hav olny worked with ide cable. its gonno be on a custom computer that i am building.
