Intel Duo Core Question

Does it run like two processors added together? meaning double clock speed? For example if i have a 1.83ghz duo core processor would it be like 3.6ghz?

No, it will be 1.83+1.83. You cannot collide CPU speeds, but it will definately be faster than a single core at 1.83.

They are two who splits the job and makes it quicker, meaning yes, you will definately notice a difference.

it would be like.. playing a game that would normally require full load, they would split the load 50/50 between the two processors and you'll be using 50% load as opposed to 100%. dualcore is meant to make multitasking possible on a pc. not using as many system resources would also make the load times on apps faster. you can't add 1.83 with 1.83 and have it at 3.6. that would be pretty pointless of dual core.

Yes, dual-core means that it's two processor cores on ONE CPU die. However, the clock speeds DO NOT just add up like that, so you can't think that you have a 3.6Ghz dual-core. I kinda wish it was like that, but no. What dual-core does is make everything you do more efficient. You can multitask better and faster and even doing small single tasks makes it way faster because you have TWO cores processing everything, instead of having one single core.
