OLD OLD OLD cpu overclocking

I believe a socket 478 heatsink will fit on a socket 423, at least you can get them compatible for both sockets. The size and orientation of the socket is the same, I believe.

That may be true, although it would depend entirely on the orientation of the bracket.

Socket 423 is completely different. It uses the same look as the Socket 370, just with a different pin layout. You NEED to use a heasink with clips. The ones on Socket 370/462 like.
