This mobo

The E6600 in my signature is about $310. Yes, Core 2 Duo will be 65nm and uses the Conroe core.

Okay, let me try and get some parts and try to correct me. I will probably save up for it.

Stay away from Nvidia Nforce 4 chipsets for Intel. They are the worst chipsets you can get for Intel. I would get the Intel Bad Axe, ASUS P5W DH, or the DFI Infinity boards. For RAM, you want PC6400 to have a little headroom for the 266mhz FSB brought by the conroes. I highly recommend getting a 7600GT instead of the GS. And those are the changes i would make to your list. Good luck!

Looks good.

ownage - nForce 4 chipsets are definitely not the worse chipsets around for Intel ;) Many reviews have said that nForce 4 motherboards are excellent.

And yeah, the other two points he made are good ;)

Hey lhuser, how about getting a P5WDH? It shouldnt be too much more than the Intel Bad Axe, and it supports Conroe. So anytime down the road, you want a speed boost, you can get yourself a Conroe. And prosser13, Nforce 4 Intel Edition is one of the worst chipsets for Intel. It might be good for AMD, but not for Intel ;)

How much does it cost at newegg? I will make the conversions.

Those all look great :D

All you need now is a CPU.

Core 2 Duo with a budget of $250 for it.

Look at the conclusion:

If it was the goal of Asus to bring out the first Intel-based SLI motherboard to the market, they succeeded. And if they also intended to make it the fastest Intel motherboard available for purchase they accomplished that as well. The P5ND2-SLI Deluxe is a great combination of features, performance, stability and has great overclocking features to add to the mix. It won't come cheap, most of the top tier products never do.

Now, tell me again that the nForce 4 chipset is rubbish for Intel ;)

Lhuser - can't wait to see this built :)

Well what are they comparing that motherboard to? nVIDIA built chipsets for Intel have never been great, they've always been lacking in contrast to their AMD chipsets. It's like nVIDIA decided to make Intel fans stop whining by slapping together a northbridge and southbridge, rewiring it and calling it "Intel Edition". Intel chipsets are, and always have been, the best for Intel processors. The 975X chipset is so ownage. :D ATI's RD600 is looking good too. :D HDMI support and even an integrated video chip that's about equivalent to the X700 to X1600.
