I plugged in my usb mic/headset and the sound won't come through it. It just came through my old non/mic headphones.

Anyways, I restarted the computer and unplugged the speakers but the sound still won't come through it.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Yes, it's supposedly plug and play.

Nope, no driver CD. Didn't come with one. I bought it new, brand new.

Plantronic DSP 500

Check the Plantronic site for drivers, those might help you.

What comes up when you plug it in?

Absolutely nothing. I don't get the "New Hardware Installed and detected" tooltip.

I don't know if those are the exact words but you know what I mean.

Have you tried to plug it in to another USB port?

Yes, I plugged it in near my USB mouse and seeing how that didn't work I plugged it in a bit further down using another usb port.

Ok, I got the sound to work but I can't seem to get the mic on my headset to work.

Damn, one thing after another.

Check what sound device is selected for the mic to go through. To do this, go to your volume control in Windows. Click Options > Properties. Then there is a drop-down menu. See if there is another audio device that corresponds with your mic device (going through USB, it might say something about that on the device name).
