Adding new Graphics card

Be advised that some mobos do just plug and play the videocard and all you have to do is install the drivers into Windows XP and save yourself from 16 Colors. Otherwise, you might have to go into the BIOS and set the video source in the BIOS to either PCI Express or auto, depending on the mobo. Some of the computers I work on have a BIOS setting called Auto, which distinguishes between the motherboard and the slots and determines which videocard to use automatically.

Simply disable the onboard VGA via the BIOS, and then put it in, making sure all the power connectors are in. Plug in the monitor, load it up, and install the new drivers.
