Never heard of Trend Micro... McAffee, Norton, BitComet Defender, and Nod32 are the only ones I know.

Id take Tred Micro over Norton or Bitcomet, Defender. Not sure about NOD 32, and Mcaffee is good, if you have a decent computer to run it on.

I think there should be a sticky on this subject about free antivirus, firewall, etc. I'm sure there will be a lot of hits on that subject, especially for newer members.

I agree. This is a hot subject and I often see questions about freeware antivirus and firewalls versus the pay per license versions. This should be easily accessible to new members, so this doesn't get lost in our forum to where nobody can easily find it or even know about it.

I love AVG, IMO the best free antivirus peice of software

However it's heurestic scanning is bad, so if you get a virus before it updates itself, it's not pretty.
