I think saying lol when you never laugh is a bit strange though in some cases. If so though, what phrase do you use instead if you are really laughing?

Ill say LOL, when I want people to think im laughing, when I really think they're just being stupid, or said something really stupid. I say lol! haha! or haha! , or LMAO, all that, when I am actually laughing.
