its not really messing with the registry, when u download coolbits and it just unlocks the "hidden" clock frequency settings built into the nvidia drivers by adding somethin to the registry on its own, u dont need to know anything about using regedit or anythin like that

Nothing messes in the registry when doing this, just a little add on..

Add that registry key in, restart your computer, and overclock! I got my FX5500 from 250/332 to 305/460 - which im happy with, it's such a good feature being able to overclock your video card, got to love it.
