audio is choppy

i am putting this here in the general section so more members will see it. when using msn messenger to webcam, the other person's audio is all choppy. when i do just the audio alone though, it is crystal clear. any suggestions?

Edit: we both upgraded from version 7.5 to version 8.0, and that seems to have helped a little. you can see my specs below, and the person i am talking with has an amd athlon 2.4GHz and 1 gig ram.

we both have dsl....mine list 100 Mbps under the internet connection status, and i'm not sure of the other person's. i just don't know what would be the most likely cause of the sound distorting while using the webcam's video, but yet the sound is so clear when doing just an audio chat.

I dont know,the only other thing i could think of is the bandwidth or maybe another conflicting program.

one more tidbit of info that may help to solve the audio problem.....the people i talk to say i sound fine, but i hear them all broken up during the webcam.
