I got a broken computer and i would like to switch the processor to another computer.

The socket of the computer that is broken is a 478, and the socket type of the computer i want to put it in is a mPGA478 socket. WIll it work??

Both processors are Celeron the one i want to put in the other computer is a 2.5ghz, the processor that is already in is a 1.7 ghz

Make sure the mother board is rated to handle the newer faster cpu chip. It's always best to check out the board makers site for details.

Yeah, it will work. mPGA478, and Socket 478 are just the same. As setishock said, make sure the motherboard can handle it.

as i said in my other thread, i turned the computer on and the processor light just remained on, the fans were also on, but the computer would not start. So i took that processor out and put the old one in.
