looks like you might have gotten the killcmos virus

it could be that, or his battery is just dead, try a new battery in it, and if that does'nt work, then i believe that the virus corrupted your mobo.

yeah i think his "new" bios wasnt a new bios at all, but the killcmos virus. may i ask where you got the bios from the web?

i did a "msi live update" thing and upgraded my bios

always worth a try. I'd imagine that it will work since normally the floppy is the 1st boot device, and there has to be some way to flash another bios if the current one isn't working.

well, i found the bios thru a google search. i double checked, and it is for my exacy model. now, it only has the actual bios, and a windows setup/flash program. do i just put the new bios on teh floppy, or should i put anything else?


okay i tried a new battery. no help. tried booting the bios with a floppy. still no help. i think i just need to rma the damn thing. ugh!!
