Before I buy...

Whats wrong with that monitor? :p Looks fine to me.

The only thing on that list that doesn't seem to match up is the CD drives.

Now, for not much more, you could get a DVD reader that'll read both CD and DVD for games that need this.

Also, a DVD writer that reads/writes DVD's at 16x, with CD read/writing speed of 48x, won't cost you much more either.

I'd see whats about :)

But everything else looks top spec to me :D
You need to decide on the processor though. What do you want to do? Wait? Or by a real cheap CPU now, and then update in a months time?

Thats the cheapest AMD 64 processor I can find on that site... Now its a bit much to be thrown away after a month... but I guess you could sell if you wished, if you honestly can't wait.

Or theres this which is only a few dollars more, and is a 3200+ version of the same core:

i'm going to purchase a motherboard that can use both dual and single for later... yeah i'll fix my drives

Yeah that looks even better :D

That supports the new AMD socket AM2 also :)

I'm glad your not sticking with onboard sound though, and getting a Creative sound card to boot. Good choice.

That first DVD reader also looks fine to me.
Aren't you going to go for a DVD writer as well? Do note, they write CD's also.
