3800+ or 3800+ X2

oh, yeah i know what you're talking about, that was happening to my halflife 1.6 engine for a while. it's fixed now though.. i think.
 
The 1.6 engine can run on a single < 1 ghz core. Why in the world does it need support for dual core AMD 64 bit CPU's. =/
 
Well you can always host your own server and play a game while using a dual-core. :) You just set the affinity of one core to process only as the dedicated server of a certain game, and set the affinity of the other core to play the game itself. That way you get ZERO ping and latency (doesn't get better than that), and you can control the options and administration features on the server side so you can kick out that rowdy teamkiller.
 
Get the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+. You can overclock it to 2.9Ghz. And like someone else said, it's more future proof. :)
