This is an open-source codec, meaning (among other things) that no one has to pay licensing fees when it's used, unlike proprietary codecs such as MP3, WMA, or AAC.

Argh, I didn't read the post topic so I thought it was asking for your favorite codec. Haha, so no, MP3 isn't the worst for me. Personally I hate OGG and ACC. MP3 and WMV are my favorites

Hmmm, which file extension is worse for me? Well, I guess it would be whatever my players don't recognize, lol. I LOVE M4A as the quality is lots better than MP3. I guess SNG and OGG are two that I rarely encounter.

I like MIDI files, as long as I am able to convert them over to MP3 which I'm able to do.
