Desktop background

Ok, I have an annoying problem. All of the sudden when I exited out of Internet Explorer my background on my desktop turned just red. When I tried to change it through properties, I couldn't select any background; it just wouldn't let me. What do I do??

Sounds like it might be a virus, have you checked for viruses lately?

yea i had one but i got rid of it through SpySweeper and Trend Micro Virus. Then went back through and deleted more manually.

Have you tried rebooting? And if you had a few, you need to lay off the porn

Haha, just kidding, but you need to reboot into safe mode, scan for viruess. Delete them, and then see what happens. Also run spybot, as that is a good program.

ok so i think i found a DAT file that might be the virus. It was created today, which is when i got the virus, I've never heard of it, the title is ntuser. Can I delete it?

Well, create a system restore point, and delete it. If it screws the computer, then just go to the point.
