games keep crashing! HELP!

ever since i wiped my hard drive (and reinstalled windows), my games crash when i do certain things like importing a custom spray (in counter strike source)
there is no error message or anything it just quits and does nothing.
it may be my gpu overheating but im not sure how to tell, ive done several virus scans and there werent any viruses affecting my games

Did you reinstall all the necessary drivers? You need to since you wiped your hdd

ya i did, ill re-install them, but i can run the games fine, its just if i try to change something in it that isnt in the game (like importing a custom spray, it has to browse through windows and load it, but while its loading the gam crashes and i hat to say this but i downloaded a hack and when i try to open the hack menu in the game it crashes) so i think it has to do with accessing the os

i cant hack because of tht, my friend gave me a hack and i wanted to try it out, i know tht sounds like bull but its true, but i still cant import a custom spray and the defaults suck, and also if im hosting a server in garrys mod if i load certain vmf's it crashes too

Try playing the game in low settings, see if it crashes then.

Take off the hack, reinstall the game.
