Video card compatibility -

depends which X800, x800XT? nope, its not, X1600pro is only 128-bit, x800XT is 256bit. It has 16 pipelines fully functional and has a possibility to flash to X850XTPE. X1600pro on the other hand, uses GDDR2, and has a low number of pipelines and shaders.

The X1k family is ALL PCI-Express. The X1600 isn't bad and it's cheaper than most of the X800's.

OK, you guys will drive me nuts with these three cards :S

Ok, Pat, you want the X800. There is a better card called X1600. The crap series is the X1300. The X800 is PCI-E, so this is out of the question.

X1600 is better than X800
X1300 is WORST than X800

I'm going to be the odd ball person here. Have you considered something like this?

XFX PVT70KUAD7 Geforce 7800GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

or this for a little cheaper version (rebate)

eVGA 256-A8-N506-AX Geforce 7800GS CO 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

I know you're looking into ATi cards, but this is just an alternative and I don't see any reason why your motherboard can't support it. It looks like a damn good card to me, especially running on the older AGP model.

those are good cards... you know what would be close to it.. 6800GS apg becuase the core can be unlock to 16 pipelines
