First, you need a network setup. Which means each computer has to have a different name, and be apart of the same workgroup. Then you have to setup the share directory. Finally, you need something like this.

Id just buy a usb hard drive many other uses, and back up features are avaible. More for the new person drag and drop like.

Rather than a USB drive, because he would still have to share it etc... would be Network Attached Storage. all computers could access this without any problems of having to change local settings etc... USB would have to be installed on a computer, then still would need to be shared.
