am2 + 4 ram sticks

u kno how 4 ram sticks didnt fly too well with socket 939's? is the same problem still prominent with am2?

Na, not the boards, the processors, or at least I think..

its got something to do with if you use 4 sticks that makes the ram run at 2T instead of 1T with two sticks. the processor prefers to the ram to run at 1T which is much more faster than 2T so its better to get 2x 1Gb instead of 4x 512Mb. its somehting along these lines just trying to remember from the top of my head.

yeah. that sounds right. does anybody know what the cause of the problem was? was it the memory controller in the processor? or the northbridge?
