torrents slow...

are torrents supposed to be really slow? i only get around 50-60kbp/s using azureus.

Seeds are kind of like people hosting it, the more the better.. Leechers are those who DL it then don't host it for other, leechers are bad

Yeah, but most leechers are 56k users, so cut them some slack. And if you leech, then your download rate is effected!

Easy, just go into prefs and turn the upload off...And then your considered "leeching"

leeching = downloading
seeding = uploading

And leeches are not alwasy bad, say like most of them have 80% done and u are just starting the download they will upload the parts they already have.

And of course the speed depends on ur internet connection too.

shouldn't do that. It's the reason why most torrent are slow, there are alot of stupid people who just download and don't upload at all. Lucky for them there are still some people around who bother to upload too.

Seeders are poeple who have 100% of the file and are only uploading.

Leechers upload too! they just don't own 100% of the file yet.

Once you got 100% of the file you become a seeder

I've had DLes go as slow as 5 KB for days on end. I've had DLs go as fast at 700 KBs for the entier thing. It really depends on how much upload there is. If theres a lot you amy get a lot. And everyone who uses Bts is at least a leacher, and most often times both as well.
