alright i recently recieved ubuntu linux 5.10. i want to make another partition and install linux on that. how would i do this?

well, actually, im looking for soemthing that i can run with widows. i already ahve windows installed on a 60 gb partition. i want to somehow make the 60gb partition 50gb, and then create a 10gb partition witht he remaining spce to install linux on.

It sounds like what you need is PartitionMagic. I've used it multiple times for resizing and making new partitions and it works great.

You can find trial versions of it. Just search google for "Partition Magic trial" and you will find some links with trial versions.

A simple way to do it is to just wipe the drive. Install a Windows partition on part of the drive and install Linux after that. THe bootloader will automactically detect Windows and will be in the boot menu.
