I just got a linksys router. the computer that I am on now connects to the internet but the other computer says limited or no connectivity. Why is the other computer not able to get online?
 
did you change the network settings, try doing this:

step 1)go to control panel
step 2)go to network connections
step 3) if its local area network right click on it and go to properties
step 4) go to internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on properties
step 5) put the dots in obtain automaticly for both of the options and apply and exit, it should work
 
Try resettings all hardware that is associated with thet network, then use the ipconfig /renew in command prompt on each computer.
 
Both of those things are set to auto. any other suggestions? Thanks for the fast response!
 
Pull the power on them, leave them for 10 minutes, and start back up in order...

Modem>Router>Switches/Hubs (if you have any) > computers
 
None of these things worked, do I need to set anything up from this computer to cause the other computer on the router to get online?
 
Try running the network setup wizard on both of them... double check the Cat5 connections on both... then restart them
 
its wired, I ran the cat 5 directly from the modem and I still get the same limited or no connectivety error
