Yes, true it does corrode aluminum but thats why he is getting an all copper heatsink and u just spread out a super thing layer and your fine.

if it will corrode copper that quickly, it might have a possibility to corrode copper over a period of time. I would just stick with AS5 or ASC.

Yeah, may as well stick to AS5. The only reason I might want to get a new chipset fan is because, well... they are known for failing. I want to have mine replaced once it starts acting up.

you really dont need the fan, but you should get it replaced ASAP if it dies out. A couple days without the fan is okay. only for a couple of days though.

I wouldn't use it without the fan at all. The moment it dies this system will be off until the day it gets a new fan.
