What is 'system idle process'?

Uumm..for example..

At the moment my "System Idle process" is 92% - So 92% of my processor isant taken up..

Its the % of your processor which isant being taken up.

Yeah, because when your computer is running slow, you want to know how much of the processor is being used, so you can either say "maybe I have to many programs running" or "maybe I have a virus"..Its always good to know the usage of the cpu, sometimes when the cpu usage is at lke 90 and all your doing is web browsing, you know something is wrong. Its a great thing to know!

Really? What are you doing? When I'm browsing the web, and listening to music, I dont think it even goes over 20. Ill check it out, once I get home.

Yeah when I was first learning abotu computers I had no idea what that process meant but then I googled it and found out and now I dont worry :)Right now
that process is using

16%cpu and
16kb of ram

Wow, just on the net, with a few programs running in the background (i.e, in taskbar) my CPU's only using 2-4% when I move the mouse... and yet, the processors at a toasty 47 degrees C :p hmm...
