5.1 is nice, but I have no use for one. A normal 2.1 setup is good enough for my uses. Becides, I have no space for the two rear speakers.

I have a 5.1 surround sound system, Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. lol Definately gets the job done.

I just hook everything into the sub and pick what I want to hear depending on where im at, pc, tv, stereo, my zen vision, games, dvds
