Cant slave my harddrive

There are these two. Free. And then one other really small, only like 8pin (4top 4 bottom) that goes into the main hdd.

And there are other free ones that have nothing to do with hds. Hope you can see them well enough. Hard to take decent pics with a phone, lol

Yeah, that flat blue one is the power plug for SATA.

Anyways, that wont plug into the drive that im trying to slave. Only the weird ribbon thing will, and same with that white one.

IDE isn't compatible with SATA.

But they have the same connections. Oh well... damn

Umm...no. IDE has a 42 pin ribbon plug, while SATA has a 7 pin plug that's signifigantly smaller. The power plugs are different too. IDE uses the normal 4 pin Molex plugs, while SATA uses that flat, black plug you just showed me.

Do you not see that white plug?

Because that WILL plug into the IDE and SATA drives. Trust me, I did it, LOL
